Services

Food

It is Santana’s policy to plan and coordinate with external providers to provide a nutritious, balanced, varied, and above all, quality school feeding service; with the aim of offering the best options within the institution for its students in each of the sections: Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary.

The company awarded the food service contract under a service provision agreement must meet periodic qualifications and accreditation required by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, as well as constant monitoring and evaluation by the Institutional Healthy Eating Committee.

The school has the capacity to offer an excellent food service, which includes: snacks, lunches, special attention, and a cafeteria.

Currently, parents have access to the monthly menu through the institution’s website, as well as the ability to contract the service in advance.

Menus are established with the advice of a professional nutritionist and are evaluated every quarter.

We have a first-rate professional and technical team, with whom suppliers and the production chain maintain and guarantee biosecurity protocols, control, and quality of the products made in our kitchen.

Employees and kitchen team members receive training on topics related to nutrition, hygiene, and food handling in food production environments, safety measures, customer service, among others.

Transportation

It is Santana’s policy to plan and coordinate with external suppliers the provision of an efficient, appropriate, responsible, and, above all, safe school transportation service, with the aim of allowing its students in each of the sections: Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary, to move independently and at different regular and extracurricular schedules, such as observation trips, social work, sports, among others.

Units that work under a service contract must pass a technical vehicle inspection required by the Municipality of Cuenca and two annual mechanical inspections (before the start of the school year and during the quimester break) required by Santana Educational Unit, at an authorized workshop, as well as random physical inspections carried out by the Safety and Transportation Department.

The school has communication, via cell phone, with all transportation units, which are equipped with a GPS system as a monitoring resource. Parents have an application at their disposal to monitor their children’s route.

Routes are established according to the sector, number of students, and road conditions, ensuring that they offer the necessary safety while respecting traffic regulations. The stop (door-to-door transportation) will be established based on multiple factors.

Transporters and bus monitors receive training on transportation regulations, safety measures, road education, first aid, group management, among other topics.

The Transportation Regulations and Code of Conduct establish that students who use the service must follow safety and respect rules to maintain said service:

  • Students cannot put their safety or that of others at risk.
  • Students must respect their teachers, classmates, and their belongings, both inside and outside the bus.
  • Students must take care of the bus equipment, not throw objects or waste inside or outside the bus.
  • Students must use respectful language and a moderate tone of voice. They cannot watch, share violent or inappropriate videos or images.
  • Students cannot take pictures or film other students.
  • Smoking or consuming illicit substances is prohibited.
  • Students cannot make purchases from street vendors or transactions with money inside the bus.
  • Students must show respect and courtesy in all their actions towards pedestrians, drivers, and the community in general.
  • Students must respect the driver and monitor, and follow their instructions and recommendations.
  • It is prohibited for parents or representatives of students to board the bus or call attention to another student in any way. The school must be informed promptly for the respective follow-up.
  • Any request for a temporary or permanent bus change or change of address must be processed in advance through the Transportation Coordination. Bus changes will be coordinated exclusively due to force majeure or parents’ or representatives’ travel.
  • The mobilization of students for social reasons must be provided privately.

Non-compliance with these rules may result in the temporary or permanent suspension of regular and extracurricular transportation, depending on the offense committed. The Code of Conduct applies in its entirety.
